I was first introduced to physiotherapy after suffering a serious knee injury playing competitive soccer. Following surgery, I was told I would never play soccer again without reinjuring myself. It was a tough realisation that despite my compliance with treatment, my knee was too unstable to be the athlete I once was. However, I am grateful for having learned about body awareness and the intricacies of movement from a highly trained movement specialist. The rehabilitation process made me realise how much I could still do with my knee and set the stage for a rewarding career in physiotherapy.
Today, I am keen to challenge myself with a variety of activities including weight-lifting, hiking, and my newest challenge of triathlon. I know how crucial it is for my patients to take a proactive interest in their health and am eager to assist you in achieving your potential.
I completed my studies in Vancouver, Canada, graduating with a Bachelor of Science, followed by a Master of Physical Therapy (MPT). I have undertaken several post-graduate courses in manual therapy and corrective exercise techniques. I am certified by the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute (CAFCI) to perform acupuncture and have been accredited to practice acupuncture in New Zealand. Living in Christchurch complements my active lifestyle and teaming up with Muscle People has allowed me the opportunity to contribute to a progressive, holistic approach to healthcare.
