Laurie Moore
Senior Physiotherapist, Director

Laurie has more than 20 years of experience as a Physiotherapist and has been a director of the company for over 15 years. Laurie has specialised in complex musculoskeletal conditions and has worked closely with multidisciplinary teams and ACC Case Managers to rehabilitate Traumatic Brain Injury clients. She has experience in sports injuries having worked closely with HSOB rugby teams along with various other sports teams and events, and in particular in muscle balancing with elite athletes.

Laurie’s areas of interest and expertise include:

  • complex injuries and pain management
  • sports and musculoskeletal injuries
  • extensive experience in head injuries
  • ante and post natal musculoskeletal care
  • muscle balancing
  • acupuncture


Clare Brandrick
Senior Physiotherapist

Clare has more than 15 years experience as a Physiotherapist and joined the Muscle People team in 1998. She has worked closely with ACC in areas of complex injuries and rehabilitation of head injuries. Clare has completed a pain management programme through ACC and post graduate papers in musculoskeletal conditions. Prior to joining Muscle People, she managed a rheumatology ward in the UK.

Clare’s areas of interest and expertise include:

  • muscle balancing
  • complex injuries and pain management
  • sports and musculoskeletal injuries
  • ante and post natal musculoskeletal care
  • rheumatological conditions including RA , SLE and AS


Susan Vodder
Senior Physiotherapist

Susan is an Otago University graduate who has also completed post-graduate training in Boston USA, specializing in orthopedics. Susan has over 15 years of physiotherapy experience, working in various settings both in New Zealand and USA. She specializes in treating musculoskeletal conditions, particularly the spine and lower extremity. Susan has Pilates training, and incorporates this into her treatment programmes.

Areas of interest and expertise include:

  • Sports and musculoskeletal injuries
  • Lower extremity biomechanics
  • Back and neck pain
  • Post surgical rehabilitation
  • Pilates based rehabilitation
  • Myofascial release and craniosacral therapy


John Seymour
Physiotherapist

John is an Otago University graduate with over six years experience who has recently returned to Christchurch after spending the last four years working in Ireland and the UK. He has a strong interest in sport and has worked with amateur to elite athletes across a number of sports including rugby, soccer, tennis, cricket and golf. He is working in the City and Bishopdale YMCA clinics.

  • Sports and musculoskeletal injuries
  • Biomechanics and muscle balance assessment
  • Post surgical rehabilitation
  • Strength and conditioning
  • Back and neck pain


Ali Wilson
Physiotherapist

Ali graduated from the University of Otago School of Physiotherapy in 2009 and is commencing her career with Muscle People Physiotherapy. She is working in the Bishopdale YMCA Clinic.

Her areas of interest and expertise include:

  • Sports Medicine
  • Sports and Musculoskeletal injuries
  • Paediatric Physiotherapy
  • Running, tennis and squash


Nicole Hill
Practice Manager

Nicole has been a Practice Manager since 2001 and has a background in administration and financial management. She is currently a national executive member of the Practice Managers and Administrators Association of New Zealand (PMAANZ). Nicole joined Muscle People in 2008 and has an office in the City YMCA, but can also be found at the Bishopdale YMCA Clinic.

Nicole's areas of interest and expertise include:

  • quality systems and customer service
  • mentoring staff
  • professional development


Julie O’Connor
Receptionist / Administrator

Julie has been with Muscle People since 2006. She works at the Bishopdale YMCA clinic and can help you with any questions you might have regarding appointments, services, products we sell, or billing requirements.

Her interests include playing a variety of sports including cycling, touch and indoor netball but she mainly enjoys hockey.


Sarah Hoddinott
Receptionist / Administrator

Sarah started at Muscle People in 2008. She works at the City YMCA clinic and can help you with any questions you might have regarding appointments, services, products we sell, or billing requirements and has a passion for good customer service.

Sarah's interests include reading, going to the gym and spending time with her boyfriend, friends and family.

 


Marja Hawkins
Receptionist 

Marja joined the team at Muscle People in 2009. She works part-time at the City YMCA clinic and can help you with any questions you might have regarding appointments, services, products we sell, or billing requirements.

Her interests include biking, four wheel driving and motor-homing. She is a keen active Brownie leader and enjoys many art's and craft's along with reading and being with friends.

 


Julie Fullen
Receptionist

Julie joined Muscle People in 2009, working part time at our Bishopdale YMCA clinic. She can help you with any questions you might have regarding appointments, services, products we sell, or billing requirements and has a passion for good customer service.

Her interests include hockey, soccer, camping and spending time with her family and friends.
