At Muscle People, we are proud to be involved in our community and one way we give back, is by providing sponsorship and support.

Listed below are just some of the groups and individuals that we have offered sponsorship and support to.

Paul Davies: Paul is a young multi-sport athlete who qualified for the Age Group Team to represent New Zealand at the World Long Distance Triathlon Championships in Perth, Australia in October 2009. We continue to sponsor Paul, helping him with his on going training costs.

Paul continues to train hard and if you have a look in our newsletter number 10, you'll see his latest update as he prepares for NZ Ironman 2011.

Papanui High School: Sponsorship of the girls and boys touch teams at the Nationals in 2007, 2008 and 2009.

The Papanui High School Elite Touch teams for 2010, continue to perform in school tournaments. The boys and girls team won their respective grades at the Canterbury Secondary School Championships in February and then in the South Island Tournament 27/28 March the boys came second and the girls were crowned champions again.

The girls went through the tournament unbeaten and even though they were missing some key players, were still dominant and racked up huge scores against their opposition teams.

The boys were unbeaten on day one but lost their semi final (28 March) against Nelson Boys High School 7 – 2 in the morning. They then went on to defeat Southland Boys in the next semi giving them a chance to reverse the morning semi result against Nelson. The boys made some tactical changes and raised their intensity and showed great heart. However, at the final whistle the score was 4 – 2 to Nelson.

After these excellent results, both teams have qualified for nationals in Palmerston North in December.

All four players shown, have been selected for the NZ U19 youth teams after their performances at Provincial Touch Nationals in March 2010. Congratulations from the Muscle People team!

High School Old Boys Blue under 11 Rugby Team: Platinum sponsor of the team jackets. This is the team in their jackets, our logo is on the back- hence the back view! They have done well in 2009 and we are very proud of them.

Avonhead Primary School: Once a week during work time we sent along Julie, one of our staff members to train and coach the Year 5 and 6 hockey team last year. They also got to enjoy a game, and the player of the day prize which was sponsored by Muscle People Physiotherapy.
